Richard L. Bergen, CPA, CFP®, PFS, is the Founder and President of RLB Wealth Planning, Inc. As a hands-on member of the firm, Rich is responsible for meeting with clients, creating financial strategies, overseeing the management of investments, preparing income taxes, and crafting retirement income strategies. Serving clients in the financial services industry for over 30 years, Rich previously worked as a CPA, accountant, and financial planner with various firms including Anchin CPAs, Schlumberger, Ltd., and Black and Bergen Associates, Inc.
More than anything else, Rich finds immense satisfaction in helping his clients successfully achieve their financial goals. This dedication is evident in his professional education, which has earned him his CPA, CFP®, and PFS designations, an MBA in Accounting from Hofstra University, as well as Series 7, 24, and 63 securities licenses. Passionate about educating the general public about basic financial concepts, Richard served for over 10 years as Director or the Pro Bono Program for the Financial Planning Association of Long Island.
Prior to joining the financial services industry, Richard pursued a career as a professional musician. An avid saxophone player to this day, Richard also spends time outside of the office with his wife and kids, golfing, traveling, and cheering on the New York Mets.
